“A life changing experience. From my first day at the Temple, I was immersed in Temple life, and progressed in my meditation practice and Dhamma study to the point where I was permitted to ordain as a Samanera, or novice monk. For a short period of time, I was a 10 precept monk, going on alms rounds with the Bhikkhus and other novices. The experience was deep and unforgettable.
This testimonial would not be complete without comment on Dr. Apisit, the Temple Abbot.
Dr. Apisit is a young, dynamic scholar/Bhikkhu with a deep love for his community and is an active leader in the Fang/Chiang Mai region. Dr. Apisit speaks English well, and his leadership at WSBR is seen and felt everywhere.
If you are looking for an opportunity to ordain as a Samanera, or simply looking to deepen your practice or experience Buddhist cultural immersion, Wat Sriboonruang knows no equal.”
"I stayed at Wat Sriboonruang for three weeks and it was a life changing experience.
I can honestly say that I have gained the wisdom and knowledge to make me a happier person for the rest of my life.
I spent about two weeks as a novice and through my instruction and practice in Vipassana meditation I am a noticeably happier person than before.
Graham and Clyde are two excellent teachers and if anybody reading this has the good fortune of meeting and spending time with either of them, you truly have good fortune.
The beautiful temple grounds, awesome students of the temple school, patient monks and teachers made my time at the temple my best life experience to date.
If you are reading this you must try to go to visit Laung Por and Phra Boon Tam at the forest temple - it was the most incredible thing I have ever seen!
Good luck on your journey!"
"It is hard to describe my time at the temple, likewise it is difficult to describe the people I met there.
I went at a time of great change in my life. My beautiful wife had just had our third child, work was more demanding than ever before and I had only recently been assaulted and required surgery.
So what could the temple give me?
It gave me peace, it gave me love, respect and friendship. It helped me find a path, which has lead me to become a better man. It gave me unending patience in my work life and improved me as a father and husband. It has given me friends from around the world, some I have never even met in person. It has helped me be a better me.
I know it sounds like a fantastic ride at the Disneyland of life, but all I can say is go and do it. Open your heart and your mind and be prepared to find peace."
"It is a truly beautiful experience to stay at this temple. The wonderful people such as Dr. Apisit, Graham, Joy, Sang and all of the novice monks make this an experience like no other. Life changing to say the very least, I only wish that everyone could come here and stay.....oh wait...they can!!!
I will be back next year for my fourth stay.
Love and light to you all."

"Immerse yourself in this program and reap the rewards.
Come with a open heart and a open mind and you will find so many little things that will change your life in every way.
The staff that run the program go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Graham is a shining light!
A truly unique experience!! Thank you Dr. Apisit for having the vision to set this programme up.
I will return."
"I recently completed my second stay at Wat Sriboonruang as a guest of the Temple Stay program and it was, again, a wonderful experience. I was new to meditation the first time I stayed and it was a great start to my practice and to learn about the Dhamma. Second time around it was a way to get myself back on track with meditation as it’s so easy to let it slip in everyday life.
The temple is very much a part of the local community and that’s one of the many things I love about it. I feel very privileged to be able to visit and enjoy the peace there while seeing a glimpse of life in Thailand away from the tourist trail."

"In March of 2010 I visited Wat Sriboonruang. I had been a frequent visitor to Thailand and came to love Thai culture and the people. In an effort to better understand what makes them the way they are, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism in Thailand.
When I arrived at the Temple I met Graham, and began a journey that not only changed my life but may well have saved it.
Graham showed me around the Temple grounds and settled me into a kuti, all the while patiently answering what must be the same questions he gets from everyone as if he had never heard them before. His gentle manner and obvious sincerity showed me that I had come to the right place, and I left a week later determined to return for a longer stay.
I came back in October of that same year for a 30 day ordained stay, meaning I requested the ten precepts from the Abbot and was accepted and ordained as a novice monk.
Everyone at the temple helped provide me with a priceless intro to the path of the Buddha and I learned the basics of meditation as well as rudimentary Dhamma teachings.
The inner peace I attained during my stay has remained with me through some of the most trying times of my life. I will always be grateful to Dr. Abisit, Graham, Fred, Joy and all the wonderful people I met there.
